Mrs. Clara Zepeda was born in 1930 in Brownsville, Texas to Frank Williams and Andrea Lopez Rivera.
She attended public schools and graduated from Brownsville High School in 1948. Texas Southmost College was the first college she attended and continued her studies at the University of Texas in Austin, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree. Coming back to the Rio Grande Valley, she earned a Master's degree from Pan American University in Edinburg, Texas (UTPA).
She devoted her 42 year career to the San Benito school district as an elementary and high school teacher, where she later became a supervisor and Special Ed. Director.
She married Gilberto Zepeda, Sr. and had three children, Carlos, Gilbert and Diana, and currently resides in the La Encantada area, near San Benito.
Even though Mr. and Mrs. Zepeda are now enjoying their retirement, she continues to maintain a busy schedule serving on the Texas Historical Commission, Cameron County Historical Commission, Catholic Daughters and presiding over the San Benito Historical Society as its president, to name a few.
